About ClaimDuke

ClaimDuke is a set of construction claim calculators and a 50-state reference from Sprint Build Group.

Why ClaimDuke exists

Construction claims turn on arithmetic that is easy to get wrong and on rules that change at the state line. The calculators handle the methods used to price a claim: extended home office overhead under the Eichleay formula, fully burdened labor rates, actual cash value and depreciation, statutory interest and site injury damages.

The state reference covers the rules that change the number. That includes statutory interest rates and when interest starts to run, whether labor can be depreciated in a property claim, whether a no-damages-for-delay clause will be enforced, filing deadlines and liability for injuries on a construction site.

How the state reference is written

Every state entry gives the rule, its citation and a link to the source. Where courts disagree or a question is still open, the page says so instead of picking a side. Rates that move on a schedule are marked as floating so an old figure is not reused. If you find an error, email us with the state and the entry and it will be checked against the source and corrected.

What ClaimDuke is not

ClaimDuke is a software tool. It is not a law firm, an accounting firm or a claims-consulting firm. Nothing on the site is legal advice. Use the calculators and the state reference to prepare and check your work, then confirm anything you rely on with qualified counsel.
