Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how ClaimDuke ("ClaimDuke," "we," "us," or "our"), a product of Sprint Build Group, collects, uses and protects information when you use claimduke.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
ClaimDuke's calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter into a calculator are not transmitted to or stored on our servers; they stay on your device and are used only to generate the on-screen results and any report (Excel, Word or PDF) you choose to export.
We may collect limited information automatically or that you provide directly, including:
- Payment and billing information: if you purchase a single report or a subscription, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number.
- Contact information: such as your email address, if you reach out to us for support.
- Usage and device data: such as browser type, general location and pages visited, collected automatically via standard web technologies.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for site functionality and by advertising partners as described below.
Document Import ("Smart Import")
Some calculators offer an optional "Import from a file" feature that reads a spreadsheet or document you select, such as an Excel workbook, CSV, PDF, or Word file and, as described below, scanned documents and photos and tries to fill in matching calculator fields for you. This feature is built so that your file never leaves your device: it is read and processed entirely by your browser, in memory and is never sent to, received by, or stored on ClaimDuke's servers or any third party. We have no access to the file's contents and once you close or navigate away from the page, nothing from it remains anywhere but your own computer.
This matters most because these files often contain sensitive business information: your own figures as well as those of your clients, subcontractors, or counterparties. Keeping that information on your device, rather than transmitting it anywhere, is a deliberate design choice, not a byproduct: we built Smart Import this way specifically so you can use it on confidential project records without creating a new copy of that data outside your control.
Smart Import also supports scanned documents, image-based PDFs and photographs of forms (JPG/PNG) using an in-browser optical character recognition (OCR) process; this, too, runs entirely on your device using WebAssembly, with no image ever transmitted anywhere. OCR is inherently less reliable than reading a real spreadsheet or text file: results can be affected by handwriting, image quality, lighting and skewed or rotated photos. Any value read this way is clearly labeled as OCR-derived so you know to check it more carefully.
Smart Import makes a best-effort match between the labels in your file and the calculator's fields; it is not guaranteed to find or correctly interpret every value. Fields it fills in are highlighted so you can review them and it will tell you plainly when it can't confidently match something rather than guessing silently. You remain responsible for checking that every imported value is correct before relying on it.
Advertising & Cookies
This page does not currently display third-party advertising and no advertising cookies are set while that remains the case. The paragraphs below describe how advertising would be handled if it is introduced on this or another page of the Site and the controls that would apply.
Where advertising is shown, it is served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
The Site is intended for visitors in the United States. On any page that serves advertising, a cookie banner is shown on your first visit, with two clear choices: "Accept All" (essential cookies plus the optional analytics/advertising cookies described above) or "Reject Non-Essential" (essential cookies only, no AdSense advertising cookies are set). You can change this choice at any time using the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the site footer. If your browser or a browser extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat that as an automatic opt-out request and never load advertising cookies for that visit, without requiring you to click anything.
You may also opt out of personalized advertising directly with Google by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect to operate and improve the Site, process payments, respond to support requests, comply with legal obligations and, on any page that serves advertising, to serve relevant advertising. We do not sell your personal information.
Email Capture & Communications
We ask for an email address at three points on this Site: downloading a calculation as a PDF from any calculator, the free State Reference full-detail unlock and the free one-page summary report download. In each case we collect only the email address you provide, along with which feature it was requested from and the date. All three use the same two checkboxes, neither pre-checked for you: (1) a required box consenting to us storing your email address so the download or unlock can be released and (2) a separate, optional box to also receive occasional ClaimDuke product updates. All three are recorded once per browser, so you are not asked again.
Your reports are generated in your browser and delivered as a direct download; we do not email them to you. Aside from a sign-in link if you subscribe and any product updates you opt into with the second box, we do not send you email at all. Leaving that second box unchecked means you will receive no marketing email from us.
We do not sell, rent, or share this email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Every marketing email we send includes a working, one-click unsubscribe link and you may unsubscribe or request deletion of this information at any time using that link or by contacting us directly (see the Contact Us tab). We retain the email address only until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or for a reasonable period of inactivity, whichever comes first.
Data Retention & Security
The figures you type into a calculator are processed in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers, so we do not retain your calculation data at all: reports are generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. We do record which calculator you used, which governing state you selected and which step you reached (opened, calculated, started checkout), so we can see where the Site is or is not working; that record contains no figures you entered. Billing and support records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for accounting, legal and customer-service purposes.
Your Rights (California: CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to or deletion of it, to correct inaccurate information and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, which, under California's broad definition, can include the advertising cookies described above. On any page that serves advertising, you can exercise that opt-out at any time using the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the site footer, which reopens the cookie banner, or your browser's Global Privacy Control setting, which we honor automatically. To exercise your other rights, contact us using the details in the Contact Us tab. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of visitors under 16 years of age.
Age Restriction & Eligibility to Use the Site
ClaimDuke is a professional tool built for contractors, claims consultants, attorneys, adjusters and other business users and is not directed to or intended for use by children. The Site is not designed, marketed, or suitable for minors.
By accessing or using the Site, you represent and confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your country, state, or jurisdiction, whichever is older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children and if we become aware that we have inadvertently done so, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ClaimDuke (claimduke.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
Not Legal, Financial, or Professional Advice
ClaimDuke provides calculation tools based on recognized industry formulas (including the Eichleay Formula, MCAA loss-of-efficiency guidelines, ACV/RCV depreciation methods and statutory interest calculations) for informational and documentation purposes only. It does not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice. Statutory interest rates and claim methodologies vary by jurisdiction and contract terms; always consult qualified legal counsel before submitting a claim, demand, or report based on these calculations. Using ClaimDuke (including any calculator, exported report, or communication with us) does not create an attorney-client relationship, an accountant-client relationship, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and ClaimDuke or its operators. ClaimDuke is a software tool, not a law firm, accounting firm, claims-consulting firm, or third-party advisory firm.
Paid Reports & Subscriptions
ClaimDuke offers a Single Calculator unlock ($19, valid for 30 days from purchase, no renewal) and an All Access subscription ($49 every 30 days, renewing until cancelled) that unlock the full line-item breakdown, formatted Excel workbook, matching Word/PDF report, Scenario Comparison sheet (subscription only) for one or more calculators, as described on the Pricing section of the Site.
Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. If a report you have paid for will not open, is missing figures you entered, contains an error in a calculation or citation or applies a state rule that ClaimDuke had wrong for the state you selected (on its state reference page or in the calculator itself), tell us within 7 days of purchase and we will correct it. If we cannot correct it within 3 business days, we will refund that purchase in full. That correction or refund is your sole and exclusive remedy for a defective report or export. It does not enlarge any warranty disclaimed elsewhere in these Terms. One refund per customer for a defective report. If you are charged twice for the same purchase or charged after you cancelled, we will refund the incorrect charge in full. A billing-error refund does not count toward the one-refund limit. Refunded reports stop being re-exportable. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and access runs to the end of the period you have paid for; a cancelled subscription is not refunded for the period already used. Nothing here limits any refund right you have by law.
Accuracy of Calculations
While we take care to implement industry-recognized formulas correctly, ClaimDuke makes no warranty that any calculation, report, or export is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular claim, dispute, or legal proceeding. You are solely responsible for independently verifying all figures and for any decisions made in reliance on them.
Document Import ("Smart Import")
The optional file-import feature available on some calculators reads spreadsheet, document, scanned and photographed files (including via in-browser OCR) entirely within your own browser and does not transmit them to ClaimDuke or any third party; see the Document Import section of our Privacy Policy for details. Field-matching is automated and best-effort; it may miss, misread, or mismatch values and OCR-based results (from scanned documents, image-based PDFs, or photos) are meaningfully more error-prone than results from a real spreadsheet or text file. You are solely responsible for reviewing every value it fills in before relying on it, in the same way you are responsible for verifying any other figure entered into a ClaimDuke calculator.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to circumvent paywalls or payment obligations, reverse-engineering the Site's calculation logic for competing commercial use, or using the Site for any unlawful purpose.
Email Communications
Downloading a report or unlocking the State Reference detail requires you to give an email address and tick a box consenting to us storing it. Those downloads are delivered directly to your device; we do not email them to you. If you additionally check the separate, optional marketing box, you agree to receive occasional product-related emails from ClaimDuke, governed by the Email Capture & Communications section of our Privacy Policy. If you subscribe, we also send a sign-in link when you request one. You may withdraw marketing consent and unsubscribe at any time.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClaimDuke and Sprint Build Group shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any calculation or report it produces.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
